Obligations for Competitive Learning
Uncommon Strategic Knowledge, Competitive Learning and Networks of Capabilities… This is “Aji”.
IR#4 and IR#5 are knowledge-based economies. While people readily acknowledge this, the cultural background – the habits that people have and their automatic practices for how to learn – are overwhelmingly from IR#3 and the practices of labor.
They actually reduce and thwart people’s abilities in competitive knowledge-based endeavors, such as earning top 1% incomes, holding highly valued leadership roles, building competitive business organizations and producing top 1% enterprise value.
Most businesspeople have learned about accumulating knowledge with common learning practices similar to ones they engaged in when participating in “driver’s ed” in high school. Common learning is organized around enabling people to operate a tool or to “function” effectively in a situation, such as driving an automobile to the grocery store or movie theater.
Most businesspeople aren’t located in “competitive learning practices”. These are practices used to compete successfully and win competitive situations, or top 1% incomes.
Drivers in the Daytona 500 use competitive learning practices not common learning practices learned in “driver’s ed”. This requires uncommon knowledge, or capacity to generate superior outcomes.
Competing successfully requires distinctly different practices than common learning. It requires competitive learning practices that enable people to complete successfully, rather than merely function effectively, to produce superior outcomes, such as producing and maintaining top 1% incomes.
We will work on developing competitive learning practices and competitive capabilities at the conference to help you and your Networks of Capabilities use and exploit them to double your productivity, value and income.
Obligations For Competitive Learning
Competing successfully in a knowledge-based economy requires three fundamental obligations.
All three are included in and will be worked on and developed throughout the conference.
The tool of Aji Notes and the work we do at the conference will make it easy, enjoyable and definitive to continue to be in these practices with your networks after the conference.
#1 – Businesspeople must have a source for uncommon strategic knowledge. Competitive advantages, superior value and top 1% incomes and enterprise value can’t be produced with common knowledge.
At the conference, we will use Aji and more specifically focus on Toby Hecht’s book series Aji Notes, Volumes 1-4.
The four volumes of Aji Notes contain a selection of the most important tactical, strategic and competitive distinctions, methodologies and practices from aji.com’s collection of more than 1,300 papers and 400 videos about Aji that can be used in Aji IFPs.
Businesspeople have been using Aji for over 30 years to:
Double their productivity, value and incomes
Double their business’ enterprise value
Fulfill their financial, career and business intentions
Earn and save enough money to avoid running out of it with their spouse during 25+ years of retirement
We are using Aji Notes because it is low cost and readily available to everyone, which means that participants will be able to easily continue the competitive learning practices they learn and develop at the conference with their networks who attended the conference, and for leading, attracting and building new Networks of Capabilities.
#2 – Businesspeople must have competitive learning practices for how to acquire and accumulate strategic knowledge so they can think and act in ways that are superior, set new standards, and that enable them to produce steady streams of competitive advantages.
Common practices that have people function or operate a tool, including AI, can’t and aren’t matching the competitive practices that enable people to use – to exploit the tool’s existence to fulfill new strategic and competitive intentions – computers, internet and AI.
At the conference I will lead conversations to help everyone learn and use these fundamental practices. The session leaders will share their interpretations of fundamental distinctions in Aji Notes and their specific practices for how they used them to produce their accomplishments.
Special and welcome note…
People are wonderfully surprised at how much more enjoyable the competitive learning practices are than the rote, mundane and repetitive practices of common learning (Ugh!).
Students of Aji regularly report how they find competitive learning practices foster and cultivate moods of passion, ambition and enthusiasm. It becomes quite contagious when people include their networks. And even more so as everyone uses and increases their productivity, value and income. How cool is that!
#3 – Competitive learning requires networks with uncommon strategic knowledge and ethics of power.
Competitive learning is always done with other educated, ambitious, serious and accomplished networks.
No one person embodies all knowledge.
NASCAR drivers don’t go to the local high school to learn from the driving teacher or to the local go-kart race to practice their driving.
Top 1% performers must be and are aggressive about finding the most accomplished, ambitious, educated, rigorous, serious, and competitive drivers to practice with.
And, the dominant strategy they execute is they practice with them every day to their biological limits so that through recurrence, reciprocation and recursion they can learn, embody and act to produce superior outcomes.
The Aji Advantage Conference is a space where ambitious businesspeople can be in competitive learning practices with others in The Aji IFPs who have been learning, using, exploiting and producing top 1% incomes with Aji. They can learn, use and exploit the strategic knowledge for themselves and with their networks to fulfill their ambitions and business missions.
Aji Notes is a tool that makes it easy, enjoyable and definitive to be in competitive learning practices with your networks every day.
The conversations I lead and the leadership sessions will help you execute and fulfill these obligations.
Join us to learn and practice all three fundamental obligations to increase your capabilities to fulfill your ambitions and business mission.
About The Conference
The Aji Advantage Conference is a special event for learning and using Aji and is hosted by our top students whose average incomes are over $1.8m and whose capital-at-work, or savings for old age, averages more than $18m.
These incomes and savings are what The Aji Advantage calls “normal” for IR#4/IR#5.
These “Normal IR#4/IR#5 Incomes”, which are twice as high as “Normal IR#3 Incomes”, enable businesspeople to survive, adapt to life’s always changing circumstances, live a good life with their spouse while they raise their family, and save enough money, or a minimum of about $5m, to afford 25+ years of unemployment during their old age.
Earning and saving enough money to live a good life is a more complete and meaningful narrative than the cultural, and often insufficient, narrative of more money.
More money reduces people’s financial gaps, while earning enough money bridges them.
Aji and The Aji Advantage Conference are for businesspeople who are serious about earning and saving enough money during their careers to take satisfactory care of their spouse and children’s most fundamental concerns.
The purposes of the event are to:
1. Increase everyone’s competitive capabilities and advantages
2. Build everyone’s Networks of Tactical, Strategic and Competitive Capabilities
… to double productivity, value and income, and increase enterprise value.

How to Invite Your Guests
When you invite people to The Aji Advantage Conference,
… have them read the first 7 pages of the book as soon as possible
… and before you discuss its value or answer their questions.
In very few words and very little time the reading introduces Aji’s description, meanings, relevance, value and purposes.
It answers many of the questions readers don’t yet know to ask.
* The download includes all of Chapters One and Two. Once people read the first bit, they are often lit up to learn more.
If your guests have not yet registered…
Please send them the link to this webpage or call us at (408) 730-2234 to make arrangements for them to attend before March 15.
They can register using the “Guest” buttons on this page.
Then, discuss with them:
The moral cause in From The Author
Do they share it? What is their point of view?
Are they serious about earning a living or becoming rich?
If they are, what about it matters to them?
Are they and their spouse clear about the consequences they face if they fail or decline to earn and save enough money to avoid running out of it during 25+ years of old age? What are they? How will they afford (1) housing, (2) transportation, (3) food and (4) medical care, which are the “Big Four” financially.
If they are serious and clear about their financial numbers, do they know their income gap and savings gap? Does their spouse know them?
Help them if they don’t know how to calculate them. (Remember, average 3% inflation increases the amount of money people need by 50% every 14 years.)
Would they like to attend The Aji Advantage Conference?
Why, or why not?
Discuss this with them.
If they would like to “delay” attending, work with them to see that every day they “delay” earning and saving enough money,
… the amount they need to earn in order to recover goes up at the same time the amount of time they have to do so goes down.
In sales this is called, “The Situation that Starts the Action”.
Requests for Attending The Conference … PLEASE COMPLETE BEFORE THE CONFERENCE
To attend The Aji Advantage Conference, students and guests fulfill the requests made below.
Fulfilling the requests enables participants to have a shared background of IR#4 Strategic Knowledge so whenever they meet in sessions, breaks, meals or socials everyone can work together to increase their productivity, value and income.
Request #1
Please read Chapters One and Two of Toby Hecht’s book, Aji, An IR#4 Business Philosophy.
We recommend you read them immediately and use them to determine whether Aji’s help would be important to you and your family.
What you read will answer your questions about Aji, and also ones you may not have thought to ask.
You may be pleasantly surprised when you read Chapter Two. It contains brief explanations of Aji’s 12 strategic intentions that thousands of IR#4 businesspeople and businesses have been using for more than 30 years to double their productivity, value and incomes.
Request #2
Please read at least one essay or watch at least one video in The Aji Starter’s Course – Double Your Income each day for the two weeks prior to the conference where you will learn about and practice autonomous, competitive learning, which is a new IR#4 obligation.
The Aji Starter’s Course – Double Your Income enables IR#4 businesspeople to learn Aji with their networks autonomously every day to increase their competitive capabilities and advantages, productivity, value and incomes.
* We will give you access to The Aji Starter’s Course – Double Your Income for the two weeks prior to the conference and we’ll explain how to use it.
About “Aji”
Aji is an IR#4 business philosophy that works only with computers and the internet and enables businesspeople to produce high IR#4 Incomes between $400k and $4m.
It is nothing at all like IR#3 business philosophy that is labor-based, task-oriented and common sensical, e.g. working hard doing processes and procedures, being too busy to learn anything, being determined to produce the result, relying on common sense and thinking outside the box.
As you’ve probably experienced, witnessed or heard from the baby boomers, businesspeople who continue to use IR#3 business knowledge also continue to generate normal IR#3 incomes that are too low to avoid a future in which they run out of money with their spouse during 25+ years of old age.
This eventually produces chronic financial stress that makes people ill, ruins their quality of life and shortens their lifespans by as much as 20 years.
This produces bad moods that thwarts any possibility of living a good life. Once chronic financial stress is triggered in old age, it cannot be beaten, avoided or escaped.
Decades of income and savings reports support this claim.
Aji is strategic and competitive, rather than task-oriented, and aimed at doubling productivity, value and income and producing and maintaining high IR#4 Incomes ($400k-$4m).
When businesspeople use Aji, they use The Aji Source Fundamental Strategy, which is a competitive, fundamental strategy with 12 tactical and strategic intentions, to roughly double their productivity, value and incomes.
They execute The Strategy using IR#4 Strategic Knowledge, which is Part #3 of The Strategy, to produce and maintain incomes between $400k-$4m.

The leadership sessions at the conference will help you build your skill with thinking and acting with Aji’s strategic knowledge.
Simply put, Aji is a completely new set of 12 strategic intentions to produce outcomes that are (1) effective, (2) strategic and (3) competitive, rather than efficient and effective as they were in IR#3, and a completely new set of tactical skills to fulfill those intentions.
Together, the intentions and skills enable businesspeople to quit using IR#3’s obsolete business skills and begin to produce much higher IR#4 Incomes and savings.
At The Conference, session leaders will share how they think and act with Aji to double their productivity, value and incomes to fulfill their ambitions and business missions.
What Are Competitive Capabilities and Advantages?
Before businesspeople can double their productivity, value and incomes, they must increase their:
Competitive Capabilities
Practices or skills businesspeople have and can use to produce competitive advantages,
… such as designing a new offers, practices, narratives and strategies (OPNS) so that it is first to market, has a better design, or is more complex and useful,
… to produce scarcity, monopolies and auctions, or provide a fresh, new capability or practice
To compete effectively, strategically and competitively, businesspeople, business organizations, and their Networks of Capabilities must know practically, pragmatically and operationally:
What competitive capabilities and advantages are and where they come from
The fundamental, strategic and tactical competitive advantages
How businesspeople and business organizations use them
How businesspeople produce, maintain and increase them
… so they can live a good life now
… and for the 25+ years of old age.
Competitive Advantages
Outcomes, or marginal utilities, produced with competitive capabilities whose marginal utilities are superior to, or more important, useful and worth buying than those produced by competitors
This is one purpose of The Aji Advantage Conference. Some of the most accomplished students in The Aji Intention Fulfillment Programs lead a robust set of sessions
… on Aji’s tactical and strategic distinctions and competitive business skills
… you can use immediately to produce and maintain your competitive capabilities and advantages, and build your Networks of Capabilities.
